Selby Family Clinic - News

We are pleased to welcome Oana back from maternity leave. Oana gave birth to a beautiful son, Lukas, in April this year. Lukas is a welcome little brother to 5 year old Emily.

We farewell one of our reception staff in October. Jenny, who joined the clinic in 2002, has recently completed her Division 1 nursing studies. We wish her every success in her new career but will miss her at Selby.

Diabetes Educator

Roger Lindenmayer, has now joined the Diabetes Clinic. Roger has many years experience as a diabetes educator and we welcome him as part of the team. He consults monthly on a Thursday. Please call the clinic for an appointment with Roger.

LAM Biomarker Study at Selby Family Clinic – Dr Jeff Lindenmayer

LAM (Lymphangioleiomyomatosis) is a rare and progressive lung disease which affects only women, usually of childbearing age. Currently there is no cure, but several promising drugs are being tested.

Scientists are searching for a blood test to diagnose LAM in its early stages.

How can you help? Supply an extra 5ml sample of blood when doing tests our doctor has already ordered. Your blood will be given a code number and your identity will remain confidential. Participation in this research project is entirely voluntary and you may withdraw at any time.

If you are interested, further information is available at reception.

Parking

Last year we added additional parking at the rear of the clinic for our patients. Please note that parking is also available in Charles Street, just past the clinic on the left hand side. Separate staff parking has been provided in the adjoining property and this area has been chained off for safety reasons.

Entrance to the clinic

Please always enter the clinic via the ramps, positioned at the front and rear of the clinic. Hand rails are installed for your safety.

Repeat prescriptions and specialist referrals:

Generally, it is a requirement that patients make an appointment with the doctor for prescriptions or specialist referrals. In some cases, if there has been a prior arrangement with the doctor, these can be picked up from reception after giving at least 24 hours notice. There is a $10.00 fee for scripts and $12 fee for referrals which is payable on collection from reception.
