DR HEATHER J. ALLEN
M.B.B.S. Dip OBSTETRICS,
F.A.C.N.E.M., Cert. F. PLANNING

General Practitioner

Dr Heather Allen is a GP of more than 20 years experience who has worked much of her GP days in the "Hills" including Olinda, Belgrave and now Selby. She loves the diversity of work that being a good general practitioner brings and encourages an holistic approach to patient's health. She encourages patient's to be an important part of their own "health team" and is happy to work with other health practitioners, including those using complementary or natural health modalities, in helping people achieve their desired outcomes.

She has a special interest in women's health & the emerging area of women's hormones (how imbalance in such areas can cause so many problems). She uses bio-identical hormones to try and address these issues as well as other approaches. This is part of a new concept in Australia of anti aging medicine, an area in which Dr Allen is gradually becoming more interested & experienced.

However, what she most loves about her work is looking after her community and the families and individuals that live in it. She lives in the local area and has done so for over 15 years She has a 10 year old son who attends one of our local primary schools.

DR MICHAEL BANNING
M.B Ch B. M.R.C.G.P,
F.R.A.C.G.P.

General Practitioner

Hello to everyone! My name is Dr Michael Banning. I worked as a GP for the past 15 years in a group practice in England prior to joining Selby Family Clinic in August 2005.

I have moved to Australia along with my wife Sue and my two teenage sons, Christopher and Martin in August 2005. I have worked in Australia before in 1989, in both Adelaide and Brisbane and considered migrating then.

I am working full time at Selby and am trained in all aspects of general practice. My special interest is in diabetes, and I have run diabetes clinics for several years.

I aim to practice holistic medicine. This means I try and look at the "whole patient" and not just a bit or part.

Outside of medicine my interests include cycling, walking, music and steam railways (both models and the real thing)!

DR Mark Medlicott
M.B Ch B, D.R.O.C.G, M.R.C.G.P, F.R.A.C.G.P

General Practitioner

My name is Mark Medlicott and I moved to Australia from the UK in December 2005, and married in Australia in November 2006. My wife is originally from the Mornington Peninsula. I completed my GP training in the UK, where the emphasis is on listening to patients and involving them in making decisions about their health, as well as keeping up-to-date with all the latest advances. My medical interests are varied, and I am hoping to develop some special interests as my experience and time in Australia grows. This is my third visit to Australia, and I have worked as a medical registrar at the Angliss Hospital for 6 months. I am familiar with Australian medicine and the local area. I really like the Dandenong Ranges and my wife and I recently purchased a house in the area. My interests outside of work are mainly sporting. I enjoy golf, soccer and have recently discovered skiing. I am hoping to stay in the local area for the foreseeable future, start a family and get to know Australia.
