Referrals: Fees also apply for new referrals requested without seeing the doctor. Please note, it is illegal for Doctors to backdate referrals so please ensure you do not attend a Specialist appointment without a valid referral. Procedures: A $40, $90 or $130 out of pocket fee applies for use of the treatment room for procedures such as removal of foreign body, skin lesions, IUD, suturing etc. This gap is on the lesser scale for pensioners and dependent on the procedure so please ensure you discuss with your doctor before the procedure. This fee is to cover the costs of equipment, sutures , dressing , sterilizing and doctor and nurse's time. Overdue Accounts: If your account is overdue for more than 60 days, please advise us of the delay, otherwise you will be asked to pay in full for future consultations. As we are now linked to Easyclaims, your refund is available immediately into your EFTPOS account or via HIC On-Line deposited to the account registered with Medicare within 1-2 days. Medicare cheques are only issued to the Doctor for unpaid accounts, usually within 21 days of consultation. If you haven’t received our cheque within this time, it is your responsibility to contact Medicare. |
